Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair is a Battle Royale game set on Jabberwock Island, whose main characters are 16 students of Hope's Peak Academy. Mikan is one of the players. She suffers from low self-esteem as a result of severe abuse and bullying. She is extremely meek and fragile, which is shown by examples, such as being easily intimidated, breaking down, crying, apologizing, and nervously stuttering. However, as the Ultimate Nurse, she is knowledgeable and intelligent. She acts confidently while doing her own job, such as providing autopsy reports and giving health advice to others. Therefore, unlike most students, Mikan likes being on Jabberwock Island, because her talent makes her useful and respected. 

Mikan wears a nurse uniform which consists of a pale pink short-sleeved shirt, a short, pale blue pleated skirt and a white apron. She has fair skin and long, plum-colored hair. She has pale gray-mauve eyes that convey anxiety or tearfulness.
